About me

I am a former newspaper writer and editor who has been honored by the Michigan Press Association for my work.

I currently live in Metro Detroit, where I write stories rooted in local politics and based loosely on many of the issues I covered during my career.

I also write two fiction blogs, Alice T. Kat (although I haven’t put anything new there in years) and The Unlikely Hero, where I practice many things like dialogue, description, action and (I hope) humor, as well as this general blog about writing, pop culture and life in general.
